Low Carb Diet
Low carb diet plans have gained much popularity in recent years. This has brought on an increase in the amount of low carb diet food available in stores and restaurants. The reason for this popularity is the fact that low carb diet plans appear to work, and work quickly. Those who start and stick to a low carb diet will lose weight quickly.
Some people feel that eating a diet high in meat and fatty foods is unhealthy. The fact is, they are right. True low carb diet plans involve eating a lot of vegetables and some fruit, rather than packing away the meats and fatty foods. The main goal is to avoid refined carbohydrates. In other words, anything that is white should be avoided when following low carb diet plans. The dieter should not eat any white flour, white rice, white potatoes, or white sugar. Complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains and fruit, are allowed in moderation.
When you are low carb dieting and are faced with a situation where you might be tempted to go off of your diet, such as when you are eating out, try to replace food that is not on your plan with low carb diet food. For instance, if that steak you are ordering comes with a baked potato, ask if you can substitute vegetables. This will be healthier for you and will help you stick to your low carb diet.
Finally, make sure that you allow yourself the chance to indulge once in a while. If you can have, for example, an ice cream bar once a week, you will be more likely to stick with your diet. Just remember, use moderation when indulging on forbidden foods, and go right back to your low carb diet the next day.
