The Mayo Clinic Diet is a diet plan that has come under intense scrutiny in recent years. This diet plan is not actually endorsed by the Mayo Clinic, and this has caused many people to say that it is a fad diet that is unhealthy and will not lead to weight loss. Is it a fad diet? Probably, but the fact is that any time an overweight individual pays attention to his or her eating, weight loss is likely to happen.

So what is the Mayo Clinic Grapefruit Diet? If you were to find a copy of Mayo Clinic Diet menu plans, the first thing you would likely notice is that there is a lot of grapefruit in the diet. In fact, grapefruit is present in every meal on the plan. At breakfast, lunch, and dinner, your copy of Mayo Clinic Diet menu plans will tell you to eat a half of a grapefruit and four ounces of unsweetened grapefruit juice. The rest of the meal, you may eat as much meat as you want and as many vegetables that are allowed on the list as you want. Lunch includes a salad.
