Mediterranean Diet
The Mediterranean diet is a diet based on the foods and cooking styles found among those who live near the Mediterranean Sea. Doctors have known for a long time that the residents of this region typically have healthy hearts. Recent research indicates that the foods that are consumed in this region are actually quite good for the heart.
The Mediterranean diet menu focuses on choosing the right kinds of fats, rather than avoiding fats altogether. Fresh vegetables and fruits are also an important part of the Mediterranean diet.
